Critical Language Scholarship

Deadline: Tuesday, November 16, 2021 

The CLS program is an intensive overseas language and cultural immersion program for US citizens enrolled at US colleges and universities. Students spend eight to ten weeks abroad studying one of 15 critical languages. Most languages do not require applicants to have any experience studying critical languages.

GirlSecurity Virtual National Security Fellowship

Deadline: Friday, November 12, 2021 

The National Security Fellows program is a stipended 15-week knowledge and professional development program designed to allow participants to develop a meaningful understanding of national security, build enduring skills for the future workforce, cultivate the type of relationship-based networks, and curate opportunities to advance throughout college into career. The Fellows program will require 3-5 hours of individual and collaborative learning, project management, and reflection per week. A $1,000 USD stipend will be distributed upon completion of the fellowship. The Program is open to currently enrolled junior or senior high school students and first or second-year undergraduates in the US and its territories.

Japan Education Training (JET) Program

Deadline: Monday, November 12, 2021 

The JET Program is a competitive employment opportunity that allows young professionals to live and work throughout Japan. Most participants serve as Assistant Language Teachers and work in public and private schools throughout Japan; some work as Coordinators for International Relations as interpreters/translators. Being a JET is an opportunity to work and to represent the United States as cultural ambassadors to Japan. The Program seeks participants who are adaptable, outgoing, and have an interest in Japan.
