The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Program is now accepting applications to the 2022 Graduate Fellowship. The Fellowship is a US Department of State program that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people who represent US ethnic, gender, social, and geographic diversity and have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the US Department of State. To be eligible to participate, candidates must be a US citizen and seek admission to a two-year, full-time, on-campus, master’s degree program at a US-based graduate institution to begin in the Fall of 2022 in an academic field relevant to the work of the Foreign Service.

The Una Chapman Cox Foundation-State Department Diplomacy Seminar is a competitive, fully funded professional exploration program for undergraduate students from groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service who want to gain a better understanding of the role of diplomats in promoting diplomacy and to learn about the educational, internship, and career opportunities in the Foreign Service and Civil Service at the Department of State. It will be held virtually from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET, Sunday, October 17 through Thursday, October, 21, 2021. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, be 18 years of age or older by Saturday, October 16, 2021, be enrolled in an undergraduate program, or demonstrate intent to return by Spring 2022 if not currently enrolled, and have an established grade point average of 3.2 or above.

Paid Internship in DC, Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control

The Wisconsin Project on Nuclear Arms Control seeks an intern to conduct research for its Risk Report database. Interns are students or recent graduates with an interest in nonproliferation and experience conducting in-depth, open-source research. Candidates must have strong research and writing skills. Experience with data science techniques and programming languages is a plus. Proficiency in a foreign language, particularly Mandarin, Farsi, Korean or Arabic, would be helpful. Paid position at $15 / hr. Candidates must be able to make a three-month commitment of at least 20 hours per week. Located in DC.
