USAID - HBCU International Development Conference

On  Wednesday, September 15 through Thursday, September 16, 2021 USAID will host its annual USAID HBCU International Development Conference.  The event agenda will include engagements with Agency leadership as well as staff from the field and headquarters.  The first day’s agenda will focus on USAID”s work overseas and networking, while the second day will focus on career and non-career employment opportunities with the Agency.

APSIA (Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs) is hosting a free webinar with best practices in applying to graduate school. They walk attendees through the basics of selecting a program, putting together an application, paying for school, and more.

Smithsonian Environmental Research Center - Paid Internship

The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and Virginia Working Landscapes seek an Outreach and Communications Intern for a funded project examining how global change drivers have impacted local biodiversity and ecosystem function / services in Chesapeake Bay land and seascapes. The intern would work to foster relationships with stakeholders in the region, including conservation practitioners, land and business owners, and scientists at government, non-profit, and academic institutions. Intern would be based in Edgewater, MD with the opportunity for fully in-person or hybrid (part-time virtual, part-time in-person) work. The internship will be funded for 6 months at $600/week, with the opportunity to extend up to a total of 33 weeks ($20,000 total) based on satisfactory progress.
