The Center for a New American Security wants to elevate emerging and diverse voices in national security. Selected applicants will make their pitch for innovative policy ideas to renew American competitiveness in front of a panel of judges and live studio audience. To be eligible, applicants must be between 25 and 35 years old (as of June 16, 2022), a US citizen OR US resident OR enrolled at a US institution and be available to present their pitch virtually at CNAS' 2022 National Security Conference.

Paid Summer Undergraduate Internship, Pew Research Center

Deadline: Friday, February 11, 2022

The Pew Research Center summer undergraduate internship is a paid opportunity available to undergraduate students with an interest in public opinion, survey research, data science, data journalism, digital publication, or nonprofit administration during the summer of 2022. The internship begins June 6 and ends on/before August 26. Interns are expected to work a minimum 30 hours/week and are paid $15/hour. Candidates should be college students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (and completed a minimum of their second year), have an interest in political science, sociology, journalism, data science, data journalism, data analysis or other related field, and have experience working with data and data analysis.

Virtual Career Day at the Defense Intelligence Agency

Deadline: Thursday, February 10, 2022

The Defense Intelligence Agency will host the annual Virtual DIA College Day on 10 February from 11:00AM – 2:00PM EST. During the event, students will hear from DIA Career Development Officers from each of their ten career fields, learn about DIA’s mission and history, and look at a ‘Day in the Life’ of a DIA Officer. Students will also receive information about various internship opportunities and how to navigate the application process. This event is open to all US citizens.

California Capital Fellows Programs

Deadline: Monday, February 7, 2022

The Capital Fellows Programs offers experiences in policy-making and development in each branch of California state government. Fellows spend 10-11 months as part of a cohort working with state legislators, senior-level executive staff, and court administrators with a broad range of public policy issues and projects and are typically given assignments with a significant amount of responsibility and challenges. All Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $2,964, as well as medical, dental and vision benefits; fully-paid enrollment and earn six graduate units; student loan deferment; and, upon successful completion of the fellowship, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Policy and Government.
