Traineeships in the European Parliament (EU Nationals)

Deadline: Tuesday, November 30, 2021 

The European Parliament offers two types of traineeships: Traineeships in the Secretariat (Schuman traineeships) and Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament. Applicants must be aged 18 or over; be nationals of a Member State of the European Union or an accession/candidate country, hold a university level diploma; have a thorough knowledge of one of the official EU languages and a very good knowledge of a second; provide an eligible criminal record; not have worked, or have benefitted from any other type of traineeship, for more than two consecutive months in an EU institution, body or agency; and not have carried out a study visit at the Secretariat of the European Parliament six months prior to the beginning of the traineeship.

OECD Young Associates Programme

Deadline: TBD December

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Young Associates Programme is a two-year programme targeted at recent undergraduates who wish to gain their first professional experience in the world of multilateral policymaking, research, and analysis. It is designed to act as a springboard for them to future postgraduate study. To be eligible, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in the academic field related to the position(s) of interest, hold a nationality of an OECD Member country, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, show evidence of being able to work constructively in a team, have fluency in English and/or French and a commitment to reach a good working level of the other, be able to start the Programme in September 2022 for the two-year assignment. Applications from candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree will not be considered.

Call for Student Papers: U.S.-Japan Alliance

Young Japanese and American leaders between the ages of 21 and 29 are invited to submit proposals that discuss specific issue-areas in US-Japan relations. To apply, please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words describing the US and/or Japanese perspective on the Alliance over the past 60 years. An honorarium of US $1,000 each will be provided to the top six authors whose work will be published in an edited volume.
